Without an organization like this I would never have had this experience. The encouragement and excellent training received from TRR Staff made it easy to negotiate class 3+4 rapid on the Salmon River. I’m a paraplegic with limited use of one leg, without the help from the TRR staff the 6 day 100+ miles paddled down this demanding river would never have been achieved.  The daily sacrifice of time for them to help me with activities made the trip so much easier and enjoyable. I hope this program can continue to provide services to others veterans. ~Thanks, Reese SGT, USMC

May of 2016 I was able to patriciate in an all Women's Veteran Leadership clinic to the Lower San Juan River, UT. I had 7 days of what I call an awesome, amazing, challenging, beautiful and indescribable trip. The guides were/are so supportive, helpful, encouraging, non-judgmental, strong and powerful. We came to Durango, CO as strangers and we left as a family.  Each one of us came with our fears, each of us left having conquered them.  During my trip, I was reminded that I love to camp and the sounds of the river. I love seeing the wildlife. This rejuvenated my spirt, my whole being. If this is what this trip was meant to do well, it worked. I will never be able to thank all these women enough, I don't know if they know my true gratefulness and what each one of them mean to me. I have to mention Mr. Dale Osborn, of the San Diego chapter, for his time and efforts. From filling out the application, to getting me into a river kayak, teaching me the fundamentals of river kayaking. Dale and Team River Runner, thank you for helping and being there for this woman Veteran and all Veterans.  ~ Sara Van Epps, TRR Women's Clinic Participant

Thank you so much.  If you only knew half the joy going out with you brings him - I hear about it all the time.  I love seeing that man of mine with a big smile.  I'm not sure you guys fully see the impact you have on this retired soldier and his family.  You give him the gift of being able to play with his kids in ways that would not be possible by himself.  You give him a sense of need and self worth by teaching him to instruct and rescue others.  You do all this for a smile and no pay.  Thank you each and every one of you who work with Team River Runner." ~ Cass, Wife of TRR Participant
